What is C-Pen?

C-PEN is firstly a brand name.

The most well known products developed and sold under the C-Pen brand are pen shaped text scanners, used to transcribe printed text to digital text. These products are often also referred to as “reader pens”, “text readers”, “digital highlighters” or “ocr pens”.

C-Pen brand and products have been around since the late 90’s and is owned by the Swedish company Virrata AB.

Some C-Pen products are used as assistive technology to support independent reading and others are used to increase productivity.
